We cordially invite you to the UCSB Department of Art MFA Open Studios on November 4th from 5PM until late at Harder Stadium – Building 580, UCSB, Stadium Rd, Santa Barbara, CA 93106. This is a rare opportunity for the community to enter the private studios of our MFA students and get an inside look into the creative process. Experience new work and work in progress, engage with artists on site, and explore two floors of art studio space in Harder Stadium at UCSB. This self-guided tour features artists working in painting, virtual reality, jewelry and costume, book arts, sculpture, found object, and more. Come to have fun, be inspired, be a part of the art making process, and to meet emerging artists in your community!
About the UCSB MFA Graduate Program: The MFA graduate program at UCSB is an intense two-year course of study emphasizing interdisciplinary approaches to art making. Students may choose to concentrate on work in the areas of Painting, Drawing, Photography, Print, Digital Media and Electronics, Visualization, Sculpture
& New Forms, Theory & Criticism, or develop their own multi-disciplinary course of study. The program includes formal studio courses, graduate seminars in theory and criticism, studio critique, and independent study. The program focuses on the personal growth of students in their pursuit of careers as dedicated, professional artists.
