Ways of Seeing before you read Walter Benjamin "The Work of Art in the Age of Mechanical Reproduction." The former, is in large part, based upon the latter, and it will make Benjamin's theories far less opaque. Do not be discouraged, in the least bit, if you do not immediately absorb everything in Benjamin's essay– just be sure to read it before my Tuesday lecture. It will all make much more sense after my lectures next week.
